Award for environmentally-friendly building for "Eine Welt Handel AG"

The klima:aktiv program "Construction and Renovation" stands for energy efficiency, ecological quality, comfort and design quality. The administrative and logistics building of Eine Welt Handel AG in Niklasdorf, Styria, today received the klima:aktiv plaque rom the Minister of Environment DI Nikolaus Berlakovich after rigourous testing.
klima:aktiv 'Construction and Renovation'" is part of the climate protection initiative from the Federal Ministry of Agricolture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management. The program is THE national standard for residential and service buildings which mainly focuses on the quality of construction and renovation. The 'Eine Welt Handel AG" office and logistics building meets the strict klima:aktiv criteria.
„Austria has developed a key technology for climate protection with the klima:aktiv passive house construction. The 'Eine Welt Handel AG' project is exemplary and I hope that many more of this types of service buildings will follow. Innovative businessmen and women are needed, particularly in these tough economic times. They make an important contribution to the environment, climate and the creation of new green jobs" said the Minister of the Environment Niki Berlakovich upon presenting the award.

Within the scope of the klima:aktiv certification process, the logistics centre of 'Eine Welt Handel AG' was the first building in Austria to receive 1000 out of a possible 1000 points.

The new exhibition stand at BAU 2011 was delighted to be able to welcome many visitors. Many interested parties and customers came to gather information on eco²building and its unique ecological and economical construction.

In order to introduce the EU project 'eco2building' to the market, the consortium presented the future-orientated innovation in industrial and commercial construction during a press conference in the East Press Centre Munich. Journalists from Germany and Austria were invited to learn more about the project and its partners.
