ECO-innovation - when business meets the environment

Timber construction

The best features of timber shine through in an eco²building –
quick, unique, sustainable and above all, economical!

Both the supporting structure, roofing components and all ceilings and walls in eco²buildings are made from the versatile material that is timber. Individual, standardised modules offer extensive freedom within the design process and can be individually combined. The high degree of prefabrication of the individual components guarantees short planning and construction periods.

Fire-proof walls, for good measure, ensure maximum security against fire, even in wooden frame constructions.

  • Resource-saving – the renewable resource that is timber comes from sustainably cultivated PEFC-certified forests
  • Timber is CO2 neutral – a wall in an eco²buildings
has just 10% of the global warming potential of a traditional timber wall construction
  • Timber is quick - the light material allows for a high degree of prefabrication and therefore 30% shorter construction periods
  • Guarantees the highest durability and value stability
  • The modular construction can be easily expanded
  • For building alterations or relocations, the eco²building wall elements are almost
    100% recyclable

WIEHAG is the specialist for load-bearing support systems as well as for roofing and wall elements. For over 160 years,  WIEHAG has constructed projects which continue to push the realms of possibility for large-scale, column-free roof constructions.

Due to our many years of experience and broad expertise in economical timber constructions, we are ideal partner for the eco²building project.“

WIEHAG GmbH is been 100% PEFC-certified since 2007 (certification number PEFC/06-38-168)

PEFC is the quality seal for sustainable forest management that fulfils ecological, economical and social criteria in equal measure. Yet it is not only the product "wood" that is certified but also the forest management including the transport of the wood from the forest and its further processing until it finishes as the end product.

The certification of the supply chain makes it possible to verify the path the wood treads throughout the entire production process - from the certified area of the forest to the treatment and processing of the wood and finally, to the end product. In this way, purchasing a product with the PEFC logo guarantees that the source of the wood has been strictly verified and certified.
